Nigeria zoomed to the semifinals of the 2019 FIBA Women AFROBASKET with another “Boss Lady” display against Democratic Republic of Congo.
D’Tigress under Otis Hughley romped to a 79-46 points win against their opponents as they equally dominated proceedings.
Having taken the initiative in the first quarter to win 22-9 points, it was all about Nigerian side who dominated and won the remaining 3 quarters 16-14, 23-19, 18-14.
This time around, it was Ezinne Kalu who led from the front as she scored 17 points, contributed 2 assists and caught 2 rebounds.
Victoria Macaulay contributed 14 points, 2 assists and 3 rebounds while team captain, Adaora Elonu scored 11 points and 1 assist.
Nigeria will face the winner between Mali and Côte d’Ivoire in the semi final.
It would be recalled that in 2017, Nigeria overcame host-Mali in the semifinals on their way to clinch their 3rd Afrobasket title.
