FA TASKS A'IBOM NEWLY ELECTED LOCAL COUNCIL CHAIRMEN ON GRASSROOT FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT




The Akwa Ibom state football association has charged the newly elected local council chairman to be upbeat in the development of football at the grassroot level.


The association through the acting chairman, Mr. Samuel Umoh, thanked the delegates and the electoral committee for the peaceful conduct of the elections and prayed the newly elected and Inaugurated CHAIRMEN to develop football in their respective local councils.



Umoh, appeal to the 31 local councils CHAIRMEN, who are now the delegates for the state upcoming election to emulate the maturity of the delegates in the local councils elections by voting for people with passion for the development of football in Akwa Ibom state


According to the association, the elections is inline with the directive form the Nigeria football federation for the state to conduct elections in the 31 local government areas of Akwa Ibom state.


Our sports correspondent reports that the elections were conducted in the three senatorial districts headquarters of the state where the delegates peacefully voted for the four offices in each of the local councils.



In Eket senatorial districts, the following were elected as CHAIRMEN; Ita Etim Eyo- Mbo, Enyina Ukana Enyina - IBENO, Gabriel Elija Gabriel - Eastern Obolo, Coach Udobia Udobia - MKPAT ENIN, Imoh John Edoho - Esit Eket, Effiong Eddy Ukim- Urue Offong Oruko, Nda Friday Nda- Onna, Sunday James UDO - Eket, Unanaonwi Okon Akan - Udung UKO, Bassey Edet Nkookongeyo- Okobo, Felix Same Abang- Oron and Udosen Abasiubong Ntayat- Ikot ABASI 


The electoral committee moved to Ikot EKPENE senatorial district the following were elected as CHAIRMEN; Unwana Michael Ibokette- Abak, Brendan Philip Enyeama- Ika, Obot Boniface Udoka- Ikono, Isonguyo Ntuen- Essien Udim, Ukpe Nkopuyo Peter-Etim Ekpo, Anthony Akpan Anwatim- Ini, Aniekan Archibong Akpan- Oruk Anam, Etido Joseph Inyang-Ikot EKPENE, Eberedem James Asanganyie-Obot Akara and Kingsley Friday Essien For Ukanafun local councils.




In Uyo senatorial district the delegates peacefully elected the following as CHAIRMEN in their respective local councils;

Sunday Smith Ekpo-Nsit Ibom, Samuel Patrick Uwah- Ibiono Ibom, Richard Ekong-Ibesikpo Asutan, Solomon Eyo-Uyo, Frederick Udoh-Etinan, Ime Effiong Esara-Itu, Simeon Akiefiok-Nsit Ubium, Joseph Patrick Ntuk- Uruan, and Samuel Nelson Esiet for Nsit Atai


The election was observed by representatives of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association, sports writers Association of Nigeria, super EAGLES supporters club, football Referees association, Nigeria football players union amongst others.

AKWA IBOM STATE FEDERATION CUP KICKS OFF MARCH 10th WITH SIX TEAMS




Six teams will begin their journey to the finals of the 2023 federation cup in Akwa Ibom state on the 10th of march 2023at the Godswill Akpabio international stadium Uyo.


Speaking during the draws, the Akwa Ibom state football association acting chairman, Mr. Samuel Umoh, said the reduction in the number of participating clubs was to restore the lost glory the oldest competition in the country has gathered over the years.



Promising that this year's federation cup will be filled with lots of off field attractions for football lovers and their families, Samuel Umoh, hint that football association in the state has made history by signing a partnership with SME Media, and other broadcasting partners for effective coverage and live broadcast of the matches so as to increase the credibility of the competition.


According to the draws conducted in Uyo the state capital of Akwa Ibom, Dakkada FC will host Vandrazzzer football academy on Friday 10th March at the Godswill Akpabio international stadium by 4pm while FC One Rocket play host to Regnant FC on 13th March at the same venue.


The semi finals of the competition will be played on 14th and 15th of March while the final match comes up on 18 March, 2023 at the Eket township stadium.
